The RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) is based in the UK and offers ballet exams that are highly regarded internationally through the dance and ballet industry.
At Dance Pointe, we offer RAD exam training from Grade 1.

Meet our RAD teacher
Melissa Aurish
Melissa Aurisch studied with Marie Walton Mahon in Newcastle NSW.
Upon gaining her RAD Solo Seal, she competed in the prestigious Genee Awards in London before being offered a place at the Australian Ballet School, Melbourne.
1991 – 1993: Melissa studied at the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne for 3 years and after graduating, she accepted a contract with the West Australian Ballet Company in Perth WA.
1993 – 2004: Melissa enjoyed a long and successful career spanning 11 years with the WA Ballet.
Her most memorable moments were dancing
• Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet”,
• Mimi in “La Boheme”,
• Swanhilda in “Coppelia and
• Giselle for her mentor and one of her idols, Lucette Aldous AC.
Melissa retired as Principal at the West Australian Ballet in 2004.
2004 – today
2015: Melissa received her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the RAD
2018: Melissa completed Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) Instructor Certificate.
